This tech tip is how to build a cycle stand without spending big bucks.
To build this stand you will need the following materials:
2- 3 foot sections of 4x4 lumber
1- 3/4-inch pipe flange
1- 4foot section of 3/4" pipe (threaded at one end)
4- 5/16-inch lag bolts
a lot of corrugated nails
First, nail the two 4x4s together using the corrugated nails. Next, screw the pipe flange to the wide side of the 4x4s using the lag bolts (drill the holes to 5/16-inch). Chop off the two opposite corners (see insert). Then screw the pipe into the flange and Voila! You can easily remove the pipe for convenient storage.
