Event: So you want to add an iPod to your Harley? (Page 4)
Date: 10/23/2004
Description: Well, here it is. Step by step directions! First, the bike is a 1990 FLTHCU. The original radio went south and I needed a replacement. So this is the next generation!
All pieces were purchased from Crutchfield (I was very happy with them. They got me everything I needed and help me through the process. I highly recommend using them if you attempt this install.)
Other thanks goes to Paul who put up with my mindless ramblings. Mike who not only hear my harebrained idea, but was there to install. Also, Peter, who was there for the install. (Note, Peter is an electrical engineer and Mike installs vehicle electronics for a living. Nothing like having professional help.)
Also, even with all the brain power, Harley’s designers had us scratching our heads!
Use your browers "Back" button to return to the Picture List.

The handlebar switch for the right side was wired wrong from the dealer!! (Since it was put together in an accident at least)
The iPod is the only thing that goes into the luggage area of the bike. This way no storage space was lost.
