Tip on fighting back: To screw with them, I try to derail them from their scripts. Ask them about the weather, where they're from, how they like the job, what's new in their personal life - if they get snooty about the last question, I say "hey, who called who here? If you didn't want to talk about that, why'd you call? I didn't call *you*!" :-)
