Other Notes: Ah, what can I say about this place? I have never been to a restaurant that is most clearly two separate restaurants in one. They have a full selection of Italian meals and a bunch of Thai food as well. It’s a combination I have never seen before. Also, it’s not a trendy “fusion” place. Each meal’s ethnicity stays in their own dish.

Being a colleghi italiani, (look it up in your Italian dictionary,) I had to go with the Lasagna. It wasn’t like mom makes, but I am in Afghanistan. It was definitely passable. It was on par with any other non-Italians cooking.

There is a great selection to the menu and the appetizers were great. This place also has the most romantic atmosphere of any of the places I’ve been to so far. I’m not sure that is needed in Kabul, but it’s nice to know it’s there if ever needed.

Security is very good and you can even see the camera outside before you walk out of the place.

One curious note about this joint (I’m not sure if other restaurants do this as well,) but if you are bringing leftovers home (or for the local stray pup) you need a separate ticket for the guards as you leave. Not a big deal, but it did seem a little out of the ordinary.
