Other Notes: OK, before I get accused of favoritism and in the interest of fill disclosure, the owner, Sher, introduced himself to me and my coworker immediately our first time there. Then he sat down and spent time talking with us and giving us the run down on the local scene. Each time we are there, he treats us as friends, not customers. So I may be a little biased as I write this review.

There is also a little ‘bizarre’ in the main court yard. While small in size and selection, Tawab, the main vendor, is more than happy to work with you on custom tailoring or getting unusual items upon request.

Before we get to the food at the CCS, I want to talk about the coffee. It is the highest quality coffee, prepared with care to rival that of even the most desiring taste buds. I don’t know how you find such great baristas in Afghanistan, but Sher has done it.

The food is awesome light fare. This place is one of the best places to just hang out, grab a sandwich, a cup of Joe, and relax. I recommend the Salmon (lox) sandwich or the Sher Burger.

For some reason, the weather is always perfect here as well. We can leave our house to cloudy and overcast skies, only to arrive at the CCH with the sun shinning and temps perfect for eating outside in the courtyard.

Security is very good as well. The sally-port is well designed, but that is just the 20 years plus as a Soldier in me talking.
