Moosa-Man is coming!
Thursday 22nd April, 2010Well, today the last of the skateboards came and I was able to give them to the kids.
First off, I want to personally thank my wonderful Soldier’s Angels (Lil’ Sis and Granny) who provided the skateboards for the kids. They were great and the kids will wear the little wheels off of them before they give them up!
So just how do you carry 9 skate boards in a war zone? Here is a picture of me trying.
Then, once I turned the corner and was spotted, my Minions were right there running up to me. In fact, they made such a ruckus, that the Chief of Police (who works around the corner from us) came out to see what was going on. Here is a picture of me and one of his gaurds.
Of course I had them do more push ups. In fact, I think they are getting better at them!
Then, there was the handing out of the boards. It was almost impossible. Before I knew it, my minions of 9 had grown to over 30! I managed to give the boards to the kids that listened to the directions the best (I kept ‘testing’ them.)
Now, I want to thank EVERYONE that has sent stuff to me while I’m here in Kabul (and also those of you that sent me stuff in Iraq.) I can’t express in words the difference you all have made directly to lives of these children. They will forever have a better view of Americans and they see how generous people are.
At this time however, the mail is getting reworked and my address will most likely change again. Please do not send anything else until I figure out what is going on.
Thanks.
In the end, this picture says it better than any words I can type…

It's great to see smiling faces on children who have suffered so much!
